Pay your Tax Bill

Step 1: Register

• Open The Nation Municipality’s Online Billing Portal. 
• Click "Register" under the “New to The Nation Municipality, ON eCommerce?” section. 
• You will be redirected to the registration form. Complete the form using the following information:
  • Email Address: Enter the email address you will use to sign in.
  • Re-enter Email Address: Enter the email address again.
  • First Name and Last Name: Enter your full name.
  • (or) Business Name: Enter your business name instead if the account is being created for a business.
  • Password: Create a secure password (12–64 characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number).
  • Re-enter Password: Enter the same password again. 
• Click "Continue".

Step 2: Verify your Account

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email from “The Nation Municipality ON eCommerce System” at the email address provided during registration. The email will include a verification link and a verification code. 

• Click the link in the confirmation email. This will take you to a verification form. Complete the form using the following information: 
  • Email Address: Enter the email address used during registration. 
  • Password: Enter the password you created during registration. 
  • Verification Code: Enter the code provided in the confirmation email. 
• Click “Verify Account.”

Step 3: Sign In  

• Once your account has been verified, return to the Sign In page.
• Under the section “Used The Nation Municipality, ON eCommerce before?”, enter your email address and password.
• Click "Sign In".

To use the portal in French, select the French language option before logging in. Once signed in, the entire interface and your account information will appear in French.

Before You Begin 

If you have never received a property tax bill, please contact us before continuing.

Step 1: Sign In 

• Go to The Nation Municipality’s Online Billing Platform. 
• Enter your email address and password
• Click "Sign In".

Step 2: Add Your Utility Bill Account

• Once logged in, click “View & Pay Bills” in the top menu or from your dashboard.
• Click “Add an Account”.
• From the list of account types, select “Property Tax Bill”.
• Enter Your Account Information:
  • Account Number (19-digit roll number found in the grey box at the top of your property tax bill).
  • Personal Identification Number (8-digit PIN located on the top-right corner of your bill, under the legal description).

12 monthly payments | 25th day of each month
Under the budget plan, payments are withdrawn monthly to spread property tax payments throughout the year. From January to July, your monthly payments are based on the previous year's property taxes. Once the current year's taxes are finalized, your monthly payment amount is adjusted to reflect the current year's taxes, and the remaining balance is divided into five monthly payments from August to December.

The full amount of each property tax instalment is automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the due date indicated on your property tax bill.

Online Banking | No fees
Payments can be made online with participating financial institutions. 

How to pay:

1. Sign in to your financial institution's online banking service.
2. Add The Nation Municipality as a payee.
3. Select Taxes.
4. Enter your 8-digit tax account number.
5. Submit your payment.

Your financial institution will send the payment to the Municipality.

If you cannot find the payee or complete your payment, contact your financial institution for assistance.

Credit card | Fees apply
Payments can be made by credit card through the Online Billing Portal. A processing fee applies to all transactions.

Payments can be made online through PaySimply, a secure third-party Canadian payment provider.

PaySimply applies a fee to cover payment handling and processing costs. The fee is added to your payment and is paid directly to PaySimply. The Nation Municipality does not retain any portion of the fee.

You will be advised of the applicable fee before completing your transaction and will receive confirmation of your payment.

After-Hours Drop Box

Cheque payments can be deposited in the after-hours drop box at either municipal office. Write your 8-digit tax account number on the front of the cheque and place it in an envelope with the payment stub from your tax bill.
