The Planning and Development Department supports residents, builders, and developers with land use planning and development in The Nation Municipality. The department works to guide responsible growth and provide planning advice to Council.
The department is responsible for long-term planning and development approvals, including the Official Plan, zoning, and planning studies. It reviews development applications such as subdivisions, site plans, zoning amendments, and minor variances.
The department also manages zoning interpretation, grading review, engineering inspections for subdivisions and site plans, civic addressing and street naming, and provides support to the Committee of Adjustment.
