Lamination services are available upon request. Processing may take up to one week and can vary depending on staff availability.
The Nation Public Library offers 3D printing services to support creativity, learning, and personal projects within the community.
Eligibility and Access
- Available to patrons with a valid Nation Public Library card.
- Users must be at least 13 years of age or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Patrons must complete a brief introductory orientation session provided by library staff, as well as introductory tutorials available through Tinkercad and Ultimaker Cura, before using the 3D printer.
- Service is available on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to staff availability.
Printing Guidelines
- Maximum print time: 3 hours per project (Projects requiring additional time may be reviewed and approved at staff discretion.)
- All print jobs must finish at least 30 minutes before library closing.
- Files are reviewed by library staff for compatibility, feasibility, and compliance with library policies before printing.
File Preparation
- Patrons may create their own 3D models using software such as Tinkercad.
- All files must be prepared using Ultimaker Cura, the slicing software supported by the library.
- Ready-made models from reputable online repositories may also be submitted.
Cost
Printing fees are calculated after printing is completed.

Important Information
- Personal USB drives and external storage devices are not permitted on library equipment. Library-provided USB devices are available for file transfers at no cost.
- The library does not print weapons, offensive materials, copyrighted items, or other prohibited objects.
- Library staff provide guidance on equipment use but do not offer design services or guarantee the quality or functionality of printed objects.
Computers with high-speed Internet and software programs are available at all branches.
- Workstations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
- No registration is required unless all workstations are in use. When all workstations are occupied, users must register at the circulation desk to be added to the waitlist.
- Computer sessions are limited to one hour only when a waitlist is in effect; otherwise, users may continue their session until a patron joins the waitlist, or the library is closing.
- Users will receive a 15-minute notice when a waiting patron arrives or when the library is approaching closing time.

- Use passes multiple times during the loan period.
- Passes cannot be reserved, visit your local branch to see what’s available.
- Replacement and administrative fees apply for lost or stolen passes.
