After August 12, 2026, electors will need to contact the Municipality directly to register or update their information.

Voting in The Nation

The Voting Period will be held October 21 to 26, 2026. You can vote anytime starting October 21 at 9:00 a.m. ending October 26 at 8:00 p.m.

Municipal Council Election

The Nation Municipality is divided into six (6) wards. Council is composed of a Mayor and six (6) Councillors, with one Councillor representing each ward.

All eligible voters in The Nation can vote for the Mayor, who represents the entire municipality.

For the Councillor election, electors may only vote for a candidate in the ward in which they reside.

School Board Election

In Ontario, school board elections are held at the same time as municipal elections. Voters elect School Board Trustees to represent their community at the local school board.

School Board Trustees help make decisions about public education. This includes setting policies, approving budgets, and supporting student achievement and well-being.

Electors may vote for a trustee based on their school support designation: English Public, English Separate (catholic), French Public, or French Separate (catholic).
