The Environmental Assessment Act sets out a planning and decision-making process so that potential environmental effects are considered before a project begins.

The Township of Russell, in coordination with The Nation Municipality, is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study for a new consolidated mechanical wastewater treatment plant to serve Embrun, Russell, and Limoges.
