Information for Third Party Advertisers

Third Party Advertising

Third party advertising refers to any advertisement or material that supports or opposes a candidate, or a “yes” or “no” answer to a ballot question, created by a person or entity that is not a candidate.

It must be conducted independently of any candidate’s campaign. Materials produced by or under a candidate’s direction are considered part of that candidate’s campaign, not third party advertising.

Third party advertising allows individuals or organizations outside a campaign to express their views and influence voters. It can appear in any medium, including broadcast, print, electronic formats, as well as materials such as signs or brochures.
