From November 15, 2026, to April 1, 2027, overnight parking on the roadside is permitted in The Nation Municipality unless a parking ban is in effect.
Check before you park
Planning to park on the roadside overnight? Check our website after 4 p.m. to see if a parking ban is in effect. If the red banner appears at the bottom of the website, roadside parking is prohibited between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Parking bans
The Public Works Department will issue parking bans when winter weather is forecast or municipal operations are planned.
IMPORTANT: A parking ban may be issued to allow for road maintenance, even when no weather is forecast overnight.
Vehicles parked on the roadside while a winter parking restriction is in effect may be ticketed and subject to the applicable set fine.
Alternate parking
Don’t have enough parking space in your driveway? To assist residents and and to facilitate the efforts of our Public Works teams, the municipality has established designated parking areas for vehicles that cannot be parked in a private driveway overnight.
