Assistant to the Technician

Summary

Reporting to the Manager Parks & Facilities, the incumbent will assist and help with the ice resurfacing operator, janitorial duties and respond to public requests at the St. Isidore Recreation Center.

Main Responsibilities

• Fill the Zamboni with water;
• Remove and replace the hockey nets on the ice;
• Check and clean players benches;
• Clean players’ locker rooms including emptying, sweeping and mopping floors;
• Wash windows, clean bathroom;
• Assist the operator with room set-up;
• Disinfect and clean surfaces frequently touched by the public;
• Able to work evenings and weekends;
• Able to work independently and follow directions;
• Able to work with the public;
• Perform all other duties related to this position;

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or current student (minimum 10th grade)

Specific Knowledge

• Bilingual;
• General knowledge of cleaning products (WHMIS);

• 6 to 20 hours a week
• Evenings and weekends

Compensation

• Pay Rate: $18.83/hour
