
Notice of a Complete Application and of a Public Meeting Concerning a Minor Variance
TAKE NOTICE that the Committee of Adjustment of The Nation will hold a public meeting on March 9th, 2026, at 3:30 pm, at 958 route 500 West, Casselman, Ontario, to consider a proposed variance to the Zoning By-law No. 2-2006 of the Municipality of The Nation, file A-6-2026, under Section 45 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended.
The minor variance affects the property of 2192 St-Isidore Rd. in the Municipality of The Nation, as shown on the Key Map below. The subject site is within the ‘Agricultural Policy Area’ of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell Official Plan (UCPR).
The minor variance proposes to reduce the minimum separation distances (MDS 1) for the construction of a house from 488 meters to 152 meters from an earthen manure lagoon and from 360 meters to 152 meters from a barn located at 2231 Chemin St. -Isidore, and from 371 meters to 273 meters from a concrete manure lagoon and from 301 meters to 198 meters from a barn at 2151 Chemin St-Isidore, as stipulated by provision 5.16.3 of Zoning Bylaw #2-2006. The meeting will be broadcast live.
Any person may participate in the public meeting, in person and make written or verbal representation, during the public meeting, either in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendment. Any person may also make written representations by mail or email, either in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendment before 3:30pm on March 9th, 2026. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the Public Meeting or make written submissions to Council before the zoning by-law amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not appeal or be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
