Transportation Master Plan for The Nation Municipality
The Nation Municipality has initiated a study process that will result in the municipality’s first Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The purpose of the TMP is to recommend new infrastructure, policies, guidelines, and programs over the next two decades for the settlement areas of Limoges, St-Albert, and St-Isidore as shown in the map below. This plan will provide the unique opportunity for proactive thinking, anticipating community needs, and preparing for emerging trends in transportation, and ensures the future transportation system is efficient, inclusive and accessible to a broad spectrum of our community.
The TMP will conform with the provisions for Master Plans following “Approach 1” (Phases 1 & 2) in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2001, 2011, 2015, 2023 & 2024) by the Municipal Engineers Association. The general process will include:
- public and stakeholder consultation,
- evaluation of the current transportation system,
- development of reasonable alternative solutions,
- a high-level assessment of the effects on the environment at the network level,
- recommendation on the technically preferred solutions,
- development of an implementation plan and schedule, and
- documentation of the entire process in a Master Plan.
The study is expected to be completed by the Early Summer of 2026.
How Can You Get Involved?
Various opportunities for public involvement will be provided, and public input will be welcomed throughout the study process.
- An online survey will be launched soon to gain better understanding of your mobility needs and current feelings about the transportation system.
- An in-person Public Information Centers (PIC) will be held in early 2026 to solicit your feedback regarding key issues, solutions, and recommendations.
