The Nation, ON - The Nation Municipality is pleased to announce that The Nation Fire Department has received a $2,500 Fueling Futures Grant from Enbridge Gas to support the purchase of carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO) monitors.
These non-invasive devices allow emergency responders to quickly measure carbon monoxide levels in a person’s blood using a sensor placed on the finger, helping assess potential carbon monoxide exposure on scene without requiring a blood sample.
“We are grateful for Enbridge Gas’ support and investment in the safety of our community. This equipment will help provide our firefighters with additional tools to better protect and assist residents during emergency situations.” – Francis Brière, Mayor of The Nation Municipality
“By collaborating with community leaders like The Nation Municipality, we're Fueling Futures. The total cost of the equipment is approximately $4,500, with the remaining balance funded through the Fire Department’s operational budget.
