Determine if you are eligible
To be eligible to use the services of a free tax clinic, you must have a modest income and a simple tax situation.
In general, a modest income means the total family income is less than or equal to the amounts below, based on the size of the family. Family includes an individual, or a couple, and their dependants.
Suggested Income Thresholds Based on Family Size:
1 person: $40,000
2 people: $55,000
3 people or more: $65,000

Volunteers will need to see all the relevant documents and receipts if you want them to prepare your taxes. These could include, but are not limited to, the following:
valid government-issued photo identification
social insurance number (SIN) or a valid temporary SIN
Tax documents may be dropped off at one of our library branches during business hours. Your tax return will be filed by a volunteer, and you will pick it up at a later time. You will have to prove your identity when you pick up your tax return and documents.
