Limoges Splash Pad Ready for a Hot Summer
Thanks to $15,000 OTF Grant

Limoges – The Limoges Splash Pad Committee officially opened the splash pad in Parc Rodolphe Latreille today, thanks to a $15,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).  Jean-Marc Lalonde, MPP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, joined OTF representative Pierre Caron in congratulating the committee at the official opening held during the Canada Community Day celebrations.

“As a long time advocate for youth's sports and activities, I am delighted to see that the Ontario Trillium Foundation has provided a grant to purchase equipment for a splash pad facility in Limoges,” said MPP Lalonde.  “The children will not only benefit from an enjoyable structure but it will help them remain active during the summer.”

A committee of volunteers started the fundraising for the splash pad in 2006 and the actual installation was completed late last fall.  Community support and donation promises from the Municipality and local businesses in the amount of $37,950 helped launch the project.  The OTF grant was used to purchase the vault and the controller, which are a major expense for a splash pad installation. 

“This grant provides a way for children to be physically active and stay cool during hot summer months,” said Committee President Bob Joiner.  “We are thankful for the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s commitment to recreation in our community.”
